Gone Bamboo Made in Florida
Gone Bamboo has several different usages or meanings.
One use is for travelers who come to a remote location (usually tropical) and never leave- changing their life style and blending in with the locals/islanders.
Another use is for someone who already lives in a remote location but decides to go even further and live off the grid.
The locals in St. Thomas told us that the origin of Gone Bamboo was from the South Pacific. It was used by the military to describe the GI's that retired or finished their military service and were last seen heading off through the bamboo in search of a new life.
